First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Burgiss.
Financial Data Analyst
I applied online. The first interview was over Teams with some junior staff. They asked basic knowledge questions, questions about myself, and questions about my CV. Then there was an aptitude test online, which was pretty easy. The final round was an interview with experienced leaders where we talked more about the role and their expectations for employment. They really emphasized how repetitive the job is, mentioning it multiple times.
- Can you explain what IRR is?
- What does EBITDA stand for and what is it?
- In your opinion, is EBITDA a reliable metric?
Financial Data Analyst
We had a first interview with technical questions on finance. Then a second interview focused on competencies like telling me about yourself, strengths, and weaknesses. There was also a case study where you had to resolve a problem, followed by a written test.
- Could you define EBITDA?
- Can you explain what IRR is?
- What does GAAP stand for and mean?

So basically there were 2 interviews. The company asked some standard interview questions, you know, like tell me about yourself, strengths, weaknesses. And then some finance-specific questions like what is EBITDA, and the difference between private and public companies.
