First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bulb.
Recruiter
It was a really disappointing experience. I was super prepared, and having interviewed at other big companies, I thought this would be a smooth, natural conversation. But the interviewer seemed uninterested from the start, like she'd already decided and was just going through the motions. The whole thing was awkward. I tried to lighten the mood, but got no reaction. She kept asking the same things, almost like she wanted me to slip up. It wasn't helpful at all. I knew I wouldn't get the job, and honestly, by the end, I didn't even want it if they offered. And this was for a temporary 3-month gig! No wonder they're struggling.

Energy Specialist
The interview process moved quickly. I first got a call from the hiring platform I applied through. After a brief 5-10 minute chat with them, my application moved to Bulb. Next, I got a link for an online assessment. Once I passed that, I was invited to a virtual assessment. This assessment included several exercises to gauge problem-solving, prioritization, and phone etiquette skills. The day after the assessment, I found out the outcome.
- Can you explain your motivation for wanting to join Bulb?

Energy Specialist
First, there was a short 10-minute assessment, then a 20-minute phone call. After that went well, I was asked to come back for a 5-hour virtual assessment, which is unpaid. On the day of my virtual assessment, I waited for a link or a call or email about it, but I heard nothing. They didn't send a link, even though I bought a webcam for it. I woke up at 8 am on my day off (I work late, so I only got about 4 hours of sleep). I think this process is a joke, especially for a customer service assistant role, which is basically what this job is, and they can't even be bothered to reply.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in working for Bulb?
- What are the responsibilities of this role?
- What is your understanding of Bulb as a company?
People Partner
After being screened by the recruiter and hiring manager, I went through multiple rounds of interviews. It was a panel setup, with three sets of two people and three individual interviews. There was also a task involved. The interviewers were a mix of team members and stakeholders. I did have to follow up for feedback, as it took a week after the expected 24-hour turnaround. Despite the many rounds, the feedback provided was very brief, just one line.
