Had a quick recruiter chat, then a take-home assignment. After that, there were technical questions about the assignment. I kind of messed up the technical part, partly because I'm not great with stats questions, but also because the interviewers weren't super clear on what they were asking. One interviewer seemed disengaged from the start, which was a bummer since I was really excited about the job. Took a bit to get feedback, but I appreciated getting it.

The whole interview process took a little over a week. It kicked off with an HR call where we discussed my past work, why I'm interested in Bulb, and some general company stuff. Then came a take-home technical challenge. The task was to dive into some datasets and tackle five different questions. This involved digging into the data, visualizing it, testing hypotheses, and proposing business solutions. I ended up creating a report that I felt was pretty useful. Following that, I had an in-person interview with the Head of Data Science and another Data Scientist. We went over my analysis, and they asked about the methods I used, plus some technical questions on inference and stats testing. The final interview was a more casual chat with the CTO about ongoing projects, challenges, and the specifics of the role. Overall, it was a really positive experience, offering plenty of chances to ask questions and have open discussions about the job and the company.

So, the whole process had 5 steps. First, I had to submit my CV and cover letter. Then, a quick phone call with HR to chat about why I'm interested and what salary I'm looking for. After that, there was a coding and data analysis exercise to do at home and send back. The next step was a 1-on-1 interview at Bulb's London office with the head of data. This was the most technical part, where we talked about the exercise I did and explored different ways to analyze data, including the pros and cons. Finally, I had another 1-on-1 interview with the chief technical officer, and then a 'meet the team' session where I had informal chats with different pairs of Bulb employees about their projects, both past and present. They got back to me about 2-3 days after each step.
