First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bulb.
Energy Specialist
The interview process moved quickly. I first got a call from the hiring platform I applied through. After a brief 5-10 minute chat with them, my application moved to Bulb. Next, I got a link for an online assessment. Once I passed that, I was invited to a virtual assessment. This assessment included several exercises to gauge problem-solving, prioritization, and phone etiquette skills. The day after the assessment, I found out the outcome.
- Can you explain your motivation for wanting to join Bulb?
- Tell me about a situation where you encountered and resolved a problem.
- What do you believe your previous employer would identify as your greatest weakness?
Energy Specialist
Had a 10-min phone call with HR for a general CV check and to discuss my motivation for the role and company. Then, after 2 months on the job, I had a 1-hour consultancy-style interview with a senior manager. This involved a business case study that was numerical. I was given figures to use and build on in my answers.
- Regarding the case study, if presented with various business improvement options, how would you prioritize them based on their potential benefit to the company?
- Given specific numerical data, such as the cost associated with a developer implementing a particular improvement, and drawing upon your experience working in this role, please provide an estimation of the potential time and cost savings for the company.
Energy Specialist
First, there was a short 10-minute assessment, then a 20-minute phone call. After that went well, I was asked to come back for a 5-hour virtual assessment, which is unpaid. On the day of my virtual assessment, I waited for a link or a call or email about it, but I heard nothing. They didn't send a link, even though I bought a webcam for it. I woke up at 8 am on my day off (I work late, so I only got about 4 hours of sleep). I think this process is a joke, especially for a customer service assistant role, which is basically what this job is, and they can't even be bothered to reply.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in working for Bulb?
- What are the responsibilities of this role?
- What is your understanding of Bulb as a company?
