The interview process was efficient and transparent, really well put together and clear with what I was doing. It was well organized and thoughtful. The people I met were nice and polite. I had a great experience and would recommend them. The managers were open and the email follow ups were clear.

Behavioral Technical Coding

HR called me first, they were super nice and helpful. Then I got set up for a technical discussion with the main company, followed by an onsite interview. It was a really good experience, the interviewer talked a lot about their project. I passed that and moved to the second round. This round was tough - the interviewer seemed uninterested and kind of arrogant, and we just couldn't click. As I figured, I didn't make it through. Some people just get on my nerves!

I had my first interview with a HR manager at BrightTALK back in October 2014. The phone interview was scheduled, but the HR manager was 20 minutes late. She seemed unprepared, taking a while to start asking questions. During the common phone screen questions like why I wanted to leave my current job, what my daily tasks involved, and my accomplishments in my current role, I could hear her yawning. Then she asked about my salary expectations. I tried to avoid giving a number early on, based on my experience and advice, but she insisted she wouldn't forward my resume if I didn't provide a figure. She mentioned they hadn't hired for this role before and qualifications weren't as important as the salary range. Appreciating her honesty, I gave an inflated number, and the conversation ended awkwardly.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • It was hard to concentrate on answering questions while the interviewer was yawning, and it didn't help my mood knowing I had to state my salary expectations in the first interview or risk not being considered for the role.

Behavioral Presentation

The hiring process is pretty thorough. If you're interviewing for a sales position, expect to meet with more than half of the team (usually 4-6 different team members are involved). You'll get a really good feel for the types of people who work here. The interviews usually happen within a few days of each other, with half of them in the first round and the second half in the second round. After that, they usually make the offer.
