First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Associate Development Program
It was virtual for all three interviews, which felt pretty standard. The people interviewing me seemed thoughtful but not very coordinated, as some questions were repeated across different meetings. I didn’t really get the vibe that they care about employees much, and the interviewers seemed overworked.
- Tell me about a time when you had a disagreement with a colleague.
Human Resources Intern
The interview process was pretty thorough, and it was really helpful to get a sense of what the day-to-day work actually looks like. Everyone I spoke with was really nice and gave me a clear idea of what it's like to work there. I wish I had a little more info upfront though - I only got the interview schedule the day before.
- How do you handle situations where you have multiple competing priorities?
Research Assistant
The interview process was pretty straightforward. I did an HR screen and then two interviews with senior research assistants and my potential manager. HR screen was just to make sure you are human and actually meet criteria. And then interview was basic questions and gaging interest in the department and current research knowledge.
- How do you manage multiple projects simultaneously?
Social Worker
Applied online and got an interview, but only knew it was on Teams and 30 mins. It turned out to be a panel with 7 social workers and a Nurse Practitioner. They had a PowerPoint with 6 questions to answer, with no discussion after each. It was tough to tell what they thought. I really wish I'd known it was a panel interview beforehand.
- Can you describe a time you had a disagreement with a coworker and what the outcome was?
