I applied on LinkedIn and the hiring manager emailed me within a week to set up an in-person interview. The interview was with the hiring manager and the person who is currently in the role. Then, I had to do a writing assignment. After that, I had a second in-person interview with some PIs and the department administrator. Then HR emailed me for references. HR called with a verbal offer two days after checking my references. HR wasn't really involved until the offer and negotiation part, which I was able to do successfully for salary and start date.

I interviewed with the hiring manager and then with three leaders from the team. After that, I didn't hear anything for 3 months. I reached out to HR several times for an update, and then 1.5 months later, I saw on the BWH career site that my application was no longer active. The communication during this whole process was really unprofessional and inconsiderate, which is surprising for such a well-known hospital. BWH should rethink their public relations about how much they value their employees. Having experienced two other unprofessional application processes at this hospital, I question how the HR staff keep their jobs and if this is why the administrative staff is incompetent.
