I applied online with my resume and cover letter and heard back pretty quickly for a phone interview. The phone interview was with the MD of the office and pretty straight forward. They threw in a few personality questions from HR. Following the phone interview, I was given a pretty comprehensive skills test that required you to develop PR strategy, pitch ideas, management questions, etc. This took about 5 hours to complete correctly. Following the test, I was invited for an in-person interview with the MD and one other counterpart. The interview was not difficult and took a little over an hour. It was a Friday afternoon and they both seemed checked out. Following the entire process, the HR representative did not feel I deserved the respect of an email letting me know I did not get the job. I reached out after a few weeks and heard nothing even though she had been super responsive beforehand.

I was first reached out to by an employee on LinkedIn, it was pretty casual. They shared their experience at the company and mentioned the company's need for another HR person. We chatted a bit about my background and what I'm looking for. We then scheduled a video call for the next week where I learned more about the company, benefits, and the role itself. About a week later, I met with another manager. A few days after that, I let the original contact know I had another offer I was considering, which sped things up a lot. I got their offer and accepted it within two days.

I was really excited about a job at bread & Butter. The interview process itself felt very rushed, like they were just reading from a script. The interviewer mentioned they'd get back to me on the next steps within a week. When I didn't hear back, I followed up two weeks later, but still no word. I saw they posted another job opening, so I applied again. It's been about a month since that second application, and I still haven't heard anything back. It's pretty disappointing and not very professional. Honestly, I would have at least liked an email letting me know they weren't moving forward with my application.

Behavioral

The interview was pretty standard, but they asked a couple of questions that didn't relate to my qualifications and seemed to be used against me. I realized pretty quickly I didn't want to work there when the interviewer asked if I was getting engaged soon. It was pretty despicable and sexist, as a male candidate would never be asked that. Major red flag for anyone considering b&B.
