First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BlueTriton Brands.
Quality Engineer
It was a pretty straightforward interview process with a lot of behavioral questions. They asked about my previous work and my experience with different technical platforms. They also inquired about my classes and future aspirations to gauge my fit for the role and its objectives.
- Can you tell me about your experience using Power BI and Excel?
HR Generalist
I've been in HR for more than 20 years and I've never had 9 interviews for one job before, but that's okay. The weird part is I was told I had an offer after the 8th interview, which never materialized. It seems like they don't share notes because even though the questions were in STAR format, every single person I spoke with (all 9 of them) asked the exact same questions. Recruiting and management clearly aren't on the same page. I was told I had a job offer after all this, and then two weeks later, radio silence.
- Please describe your experience using the STAR method.
- Can you share an example of when you dealt with a negative work environment, using the STAR method?
Internal Auditor
The hiring process for this Senior Internal Auditor role felt drawn out, though it was remote and seemed like a good company. I applied online and HR reached out about a week later to set up a virtual interview. After that initial contact, I had to wait another week, and HR eventually got back to me to schedule three more interviews (two with managers and one with the director) which were two weeks out. A few days after those interviews, I received an offer, but I had already accepted other offers that paid more.
- Can you describe the types of audits you've conducted and specify your strongest areas within audit, as well as your weaknesses?
- What kind of audits have you done? What areas of audit are you strongest in and what are your weaknesses?
Maintenance Mechanic
After your resume is picked and they reach out to you for an interview, you'll have 3 interviews all on the same day with 3 random people, usually from the office side. They need 2/3 of them to approve you for an offer. For mechanics, you gotta pass a mechanical aptitude test first. Other jobs need a basic production test. The interview is about safety, work ethic, your background, and manufacturing. It's weird though, the 3 people interviewing me didn't ask a single mechanic question. They probably never even touched a wrench. To hire good people for this job, they should have interviewers who actually know maintenance. Anyone can study for a mechanical aptitude test and pass without much experience. Why not have experienced mechanics and maintenance managers ask questions and do the interviews?
- How do you approach safety?
- What about your work ethic?
- Can you tell me about your background?
