Technical Coding

It was a 30 minute technical interview, followed by a coding interview. For the coding part, you had to fully implement it in Python or your preferred language. They also asked to implement the dropout forward pass by hand, given a dropout probability p.

I went to a job fair where everyone was super nice. HR explained what they were looking for and the whole process. Then I got some pamphlets about the company while I waited for my on-the-spot interview. They asked for my resume before the interview. Afterward, I had to take an arrhythmia test to check my reading level. They were looking for people with no EKG experience to help them get into the medical field. If you get an offer, there's a two-week training trial to see how well you learn the job, then they offer a more stable position. After that, there's six more weeks of training with higher pay that you need to pass before being officially hired. Once officially hired, you need to take the CCT test if you haven't already, and then you get your final starting pay raise.

I went through the interview process at telemetry for about two months. It started with a recruiter call, then a phone skills assessment. After that, I had several interviews with people on the team, including some who would have reported to me. In early April, they said an offer was coming, but then a hiring freeze happened. They mentioned they'd let me know if things changed. I saw the job reposted recently, tried to reapply but got blocked. I emailed the talent acquisition partner but haven't heard back.

The corporate recruiter in PA sounded good and promised things not offered in the Rochester office to get me in for an in person interview, which I felt was wrong. During my in person interview, there was no receptionist, and the hiring manager didn't greet me, so I had to find an employee to see if they knew the hiring manager and could let them know I was there. The handshake was insincere, and they talked about a template before asking about my skills. Someone else joined mid-interview. The phone interview with the recruiter was positive, but the onsite was cold. They didn't sell the company well. It seemed like they'd treat you like a new grad even though it's exempt. They have rigid hours and a strict work from home policy, requiring you to make up time for appointments. It sounds like PTO is accrued in a bank, 15 days total for vacation and sick time, and you don't get it all at once. You also can't take vacation time easily, as one manager hinted, which was actually good to hear during the interview.
