Started with a recruiter phone screen, then a 45-minute typical interview with the hiring manager. After that, I had 45 minutes to do a financial analysis for the hiring manager under time pressure. Then there was a rolling panel of about 5 people over a week. Finally, a phone call with an offer. They were always punctual and straightforward, and everyone was collegial and open.

I applied on LinkedIn and got an email to schedule the first interview. It seemed impersonal, almost like a scam. The recruiter confirmed my qualifications and seemed okay with my candidacy, except for my salary expectations. The job posting said 87-137k, but the recruiter said the maximum offer would be 115k. Despite this discrepancy, I agreed to move forward. The recruiter promised to update me on the next steps but didn't, even after I followed up twice. I asked for feedback on why I wasn't chosen, especially since my qualifications were confirmed and we'd discussed salary. The recruiter's only response was 'thanks.' I felt this was disrespectful of my time, particularly after a 30-minute video interview, and I should have at least been notified of the decision.

The interview was informal and last minute, scheduled spontaneously due to a crisis. The director was really keen to fill the position quickly. They gave me a vague idea of the scope. It was a bit strange that HR wasn't involved in sending the invitation. It felt more like a casual chat than a formal interview. I'm not even sure if they looked at my resume. It seemed like their main concern was finding someone to handle the immediate issues at the startup plant.

It took about 2 weeks from applying to getting an interview. The interview was online with the Facility Director and department heads. After introductions, the interview continued in a friendly and relaxed manner. For the second part, future colleagues joined the chat. They didn't ask anything, so be ready with questions for them. My salary expectation wasn't answered; instead, HR might contact me in 2-3 weeks with an offer. The job was posted in June, but the start date is early October, which I only found out during the interview. Honestly, the process is kind of impractical, finding out the salary range after about 5 weeks and the job starting months later.
