I applied for the company and got the interview schedule like a week later. Then I was interviewed by 4 interviewers by turn. They are really friendly and chill and I felt really comfortable in the whole interview progress. However, they asked me quite a lot of questions like around 10 questions in 30 minutes and some of them were quite challenging for me personally and I didn't expect those kinds of questions.

Behavioral Technical

BioLegend reached out about a week after I applied. Initially, I had a 20-minute phone interview with the hiring manager. The following week, I participated in a roughly 35-minute video call with the hiring manager and two other department members. They mostly asked behavioral and situational questions. Interestingly, they didn't inquire about my research experience, even though the job posting highlighted several technical skills they were looking for. I felt they didn't clearly explain the role's responsibilities, so I had many questions for them at the end. They mentioned HR would contact me in 1-2 weeks if they wanted to proceed. I never heard back, and honestly, I wasn't too disappointed because I got the sense the day-to-day tasks were less extensive than advertised.

I applied in late May via LinkedIn and heard back from HR for a Phone Screen within a couple of days. Next, I had a one-way video interview using SparkHire where I had to record my answers to five questions – three technical and two basic. A few days later, I had a panel interview via Skype with the team in San Diego. Most questions were technical and pulled directly from the job description. They weren't too difficult if you know the process or have prior experience. The HR was great, responsive, and made the process really easy and comfortable. Overall, a positive experience.

It begins with a phone call to check if you're still into the job. Then, you'll get a call to meet the next week for a bunch of meetings: HR, your future boss, coworkers, and upper management. HR will ask you general things about your personality and what you've done before. Your potential supervisor will focus more on your past work and if you know the job. Coworkers will chime in to see if you'll fit with the team and can handle the job's tricky parts. Upper management wants to know how long you see yourself working here and will grill you on your past experiences to check your decision-making and knowledge. Biolegend usually decides in about two weeks, sometimes even faster.
