I had a phone interview first, and then they asked me to come on-site to meet with four people. But on that day, one person couldn't make it, so I didn't get to talk to them. Then, they scheduled ANOTHER on-site interview. The HR person emailed me that the interview was at noon, but the attachment said 1 PM. I couldn't reach them to confirm, so I went at the earlier time. When I got there, they told me the interview actually started at 1 PM, so I had to come back later. During that interview, someone was missing again, so it was cut short. Even with all this disorganization, I got an offer. The salary they offered was laughable. Given my experience, they offered me less than a new grad with no experience should get. It was funny. And honestly, I felt insulted not just by the offer but by how rude the person was who called to give me the offer. There was no room for negotiation. I wasn't desperate enough to put myself down like that. My advice to others: Don't accept insulting pay. Know your value and find a job that truly values you fairly. Look beyond the interviews and understand that if a company offers terrible wages, they likely don't care about their employees.

I got a call from BioLegend about a Research Associate position. The recruiter wanted to do a phone screen right away, but I suggested scheduling it for later that week. She forgot about our scheduled call and contacted me two hours late, saying she was swamped. She sounded a bit dismissive and only seemed interested in my research background, which made me feel like a disposable asset. My attempts to discuss my passions were met with disinterest. When I asked about the next steps and if I'd be notified if I didn't advance, she struggled to answer clearly, eventually stating that candidates are not informed if they don't proceed. I never heard back. The next stage would have been an in-person interview with several scientists, possibly including the director.

The hiring process was very professional. I reached out to a recruiter who was great at answering my questions and responding quickly. The hiring managers I spoke with were also very professional. Even though I ultimately declined the offer to explore another opportunity, I wanted to leave positive feedback to show my appreciation for their efforts in making the interview process open and efficient. I would recommend this company to others looking for a job.
