BigID Interview Questions

I had a really good time interviewing at BigID. All the people I talked to were super professional and nice and supportive. They made me feel valued which was different from other interviews. Everyone took their time to ask good questions and gave me feedback. I felt comfortable talking about myself and asking questions. The hiring team was organized and kept me updated. I'm excited to join BigID because they seem to really care about teamwork, empathy, and being professional.

Just a heads up on the effort involved. I went through the whole process, including a take-home assignment and an in-office presentation. On the final step, I was informed they had chosen someone else. I get that companies want to pick the best, but this took over a month in total, and it felt like they didn't really value the candidates' time and effort. If I wasn't a good fit, that's fine, but you probably could have figured that out before the last stage. So, candidates, be aware of this. To BigID HR, I think this whole thing could have been handled in a way that better respects people's time and effort.

So I interviewed at BigID back in September 2024, and honestly, the whole thing was great. It was super quick, and I got feedback really fast after every step. First, there was this online coding assignment, you know, with LeetCode style questions that were pretty easy to medium. Then, I had a phone call with the team lead where we chatted about technical stuff. After that, it was a deeper dive into a project I'd done before, like I had to present something I worked on by myself or for school. They also gave me a backend take-home assignment, and I had a whole week for it, which was plenty of time. The next step was another technical interview, this time to go over the home assignment, my approach, and how I solved it. Finally, I talked with HR. The whole time, they were really open about everything, and everyone was so nice and professional. It was a really good experience, and I liked how smoothly and quickly everything was communicated.

I applied online and heard back from a recruiter within days. The initial call seemed positive, and when I asked for feedback, the recruiter mentioned my background was strong and to expect updates. However, the very next day, I received a standard rejection email. I tried to get more specific feedback from the recruiter but got no response. It was unexpected to not advance past the recruiter screen, especially given my experience and the recruiter's earlier positive comments. This makes me suspect the rejection might have been due to personal bias rather than my qualifications. In retrospect, it might be for the best.
