i did a home assignment where i had to fetch an api and process data from it, which i think went well. afterwards, i had an on-site technical interview where they asked about my knowledge, looked at my projects, and gave me 2 leetcode questions. the first was to find the longest substring without repeating characters, and the second was to find a needle in a haystack. that also went well. about a week later, the hr told me they went with other candidates who interviewed before me, which i found quite strange.

So I interviewed at BigID back in September 2024, and honestly, the whole thing was great. It was super quick, and I got feedback really fast after every step. First, there was this online coding assignment, you know, with LeetCode style questions that were pretty easy to medium. Then, I had a phone call with the team lead where we chatted about technical stuff. After that, it was a deeper dive into a project I'd done before, like I had to present something I worked on by myself or for school. They also gave me a backend take-home assignment, and I had a whole week for it, which was plenty of time. The next step was another technical interview, this time to go over the home assignment, my approach, and how I solved it. Finally, I talked with HR. The whole time, they were really open about everything, and everyone was so nice and professional. It was a really good experience, and I liked how smoothly and quickly everything was communicated.

A recruiter contacted me via LinkedIn, and the entire process wrapped up in under a month. It kicked off with an HR screening for about 30 minutes, where they introduced the company and the role. Next, a 45-minute technical interview with the engineering manager involved discussing my background, the company, and the product, followed by a code challenge to complete at my leisure. After submitting my code, we had a ~1.5-hour technical interview with the engineering manager, VP, and a staff developer to go over my solution, which included discussing the code. Then there was a cultural fit interview with the Global Talent Acquisition Director. Finally, they extended a job offer. The interviews were quick, and everyone was really friendly, ensuring I felt comfortable and had all my questions answered.
