First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Beyond Meat.
Packaging Engineer
It was multiple rounds, with the final round being a slide deck presentation of previous work, followed by several interviews with potential teammates. Before that, there were just a few calls with the recruiter. I did get a verbal offer and negotiated salary, but then they rescinded it because they decided I didn't have enough experience, even though my new grad experience level was clear.

The interview process started with a standard recruiter phone screening, followed by two separate 30-minute interviews with higher-ups. While the interview itself was pretty standard and the questions were relaxed, the recruiter was really bad at scheduling follow-up interviews, sometimes responding super late about availability. A big heads-up: if you don't get an offer, they will ghost you and completely cut off communication. It's frustrating when you spend time interviewing and then just never hear back. I think people should be more vocal about being ghosted after interviews so others know to keep applying elsewhere and to call out this unprofessional behavior. Anyway, good luck with your job hunt, you can do it!

Research Associate
The whole process was pretty simple and the recruiter was super helpful in getting things set up. There were 3 rounds of interviews. First up was a quick chat with a recruiter to go over general stuff about my experience and what I'm looking for. Then, I had a 30-minute Zoom call with the VP of flavor, where most of the questions were about my previous research and work, all pretty technical. If that went well, the final round was a 3-hour Zoom with the Beyond Meat team. This involved a 45-minute to 1-hour presentation on my past projects, split into 45 mins for the work itself and 10-15 mins on what I can bring to the company. After that, I had individual 30-minute one-on-one sessions with different groups, with questions mostly about my past background and some behavioral stuff.

The process included two phone interviews and then a Zoom interview that had a presentation and a panel. I thought the process was a bit disorganized because the interview got rescheduled a couple of times, multiple people were late, and some didn't seem engaged or ready. They either didn't have questions for me or couldn't answer basic questions about the company's current focuses. It makes me wonder what their worst behavior would be if this was their best attempt to impress a candidate. I also don't get why Glassdoor keeps rejecting this review. I didn't name anyone specific, so is it really not okay to say 'some' people were late? If I can't say that, what's the point of writing a review? Are only reviews saying everyone was perfect and I loved the process accepted?
- In what ways would you support Beyond Meat's mission?
