First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Belkin.
Marketing Executive
I had an online interview with HR, the director, and the hiring manager. They asked some basic questions, like to introduce myself, my daily work at my current company, and how I manage my time. The interview was pretty okay, the questions weren't too difficult. They also shared more in-depth details about the job scope and what's expected in this role.

Business Development Representative
I applied through a recruiter and the whole thing took over 3 months. The interview process started with a phone interview with a recruiter, then another one with a current business development manager. It was a simple chat where they asked me about the company, my familiarity with the products, and my past experience. The HR recruiter at Belkin took days to respond to emails about the vetting process, sometimes not responding at all, which really should have been a sign. After weeks, I finally got a response to interview at their HQ in Playa Vista with a Biz Dev Mgr and a Biz Dev Director. Nobody greeted me when I walked in, the receptionists were just chatting. It was nothing like the tech companies I've interviewed with that welcome you, give tours, and let you meet team members. For a 'tech' company, Belkin has poor communication, doesn't use tech well for check-ins or candidate profiles, and still wanted paper resumes and cover letters in 2015. The interview with the Biz Dev Mgr (who was the CEO's son) and Biz Dev Dir (a new hire) went well. They said they had no more hires to interview and no reservations about me, so the interview was just a formality. They were impressed with me and my eagerness to solve their business problems, so I thought I'd get an offer. The interview was easy and conversational, focusing on what they wanted and what they knew about a business problem in the product segment. Despite sending thank you emails to everyone involved, I didn't get an offer or a reply for two months, and that was only after I reached out again to the HR recruiter. This place seems very nepotistic if you look it up. I should have listened to the Glassdoor reviews. They could use great talent to solve their issues but refuse to see the potential because it's privately held by someone who doesn't seem to care about the future.

- Could you describe your previous work experience?
Finance Analyst
First, had a quick chat with an external recruiter who looked over my CV and experience to see how it fits the role. Then, there was a video interview that lasted about an hour with HR and the hiring manager. We went through my CV again, and they asked some competency-based and behavioral questions. The final stage was an in-person interview with the hiring manager and the team. It included a 15-minute Excel test requiring intermediate skills and knowledge of finance formulas to make it easier. After that, I had a 45-minute informal chat with the hiring manager discussing the job details and daily tasks.

National Account Manager
Went through five rounds of interviews, with the final one being an in-person visit to the headquarters to meet with team members. All the interview rounds themselves went well and felt positive until it was time for them to make a decision. After the final interview, I was ghosted and ignored for two straight weeks. The recruiter wouldn't respond to emails, phone calls, or texts. It honestly felt unprofessional, like amateur hour. My advice is don't apply to Belkin if you expect decent communication during the hiring process. It was a complete waste of time, especially considering how well the interviews went. They really need to hire better recruiters because ignoring a candidate for two weeks is not professional behavior at all. Just check out past interview reviews for this company. A complete waste of time.
