First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bechtle.
Business Development
I applied for the role in Northampton, and the interview was conducted via Teams. The interviewer seemed disengaged, making little effort for small talk beforehand. They spoke at length without posing questions and used inappropriate language. Afterwards, they made unpleasant remarks about me. It felt like a pointless waste of time.

Business Development Executive
Had 4 interviews that went well. However, there was no room in their current department as they were looking for someone with more experience. The managers were positive about me as a person and recommended me internally to another department. I indicated that I wanted the same employment conditions. During salary negotiations, it turned out that my gross salary would be 500 EUR lower than initially and no company car.

Sales
So the interview process has two parts. First, an online Teams interview with two of the senior account managers you'd be working with. They mostly wanted to get a feel for who I am and why I applied. The questions were pretty straightforward, focusing on explaining the role and what the company offers. It was about an hour long and I felt pretty good about it. The second part was in person and needed a lot more preparation. I had to create a presentation about myself and about Bechtle, using four key strengths they gave me. They provided a basic structure, but I had to flesh it out to show I'd done my research. After that, they hit me with some tough questions to really dig into my reasons for applying for this role. You've got to be confident and back up everything you say with proof. This also lasted about an hour. They told me I was their second choice, but they went with someone with more IT sales experience, which is understandable business-wise, even though the job description didn't explicitly require it, so I was a bit disappointed. It seems like a great place to work, though, even if the job is demanding and requires a lot of hard work. I'll definitely apply again and would recommend Bechtle, especially the Chippenham office.
- What do you know about what Bechtle does?
- What would you say is your greatest weakness?
- Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Account Manager
This was an easy interview process for the Account Manager position, with N+2 and N+1 rounds. It was a great experience. The questions were very simple, and there wasn't any roleplay, although I think there should have been. They really tried to understand my personality and are open to candidates with unconventional career paths.
- Can you tell me about your past sales experience?
- What makes you the right choice for this role over other candidates?
