So the interview process has two parts. First, an online Teams interview with two of the senior account managers you'd be working with. They mostly wanted to get a feel for who I am and why I applied. The questions were pretty straightforward, focusing on explaining the role and what the company offers. It was about an hour long and I felt pretty good about it. The second part was in person and needed a lot more preparation. I had to create a presentation about myself and about Bechtle, using four key strengths they gave me. They provided a basic structure, but I had to flesh it out to show I'd done my research. After that, they hit me with some tough questions to really dig into my reasons for applying for this role. You've got to be confident and back up everything you say with proof. This also lasted about an hour. They told me I was their second choice, but they went with someone with more IT sales experience, which is understandable business-wise, even though the job description didn't explicitly require it, so I was a bit disappointed. It seems like a great place to work, though, even if the job is demanding and requires a lot of hard work. I'll definitely apply again and would recommend Bechtle, especially the Chippenham office.

After applying, there was a very quick call inviting me to a phone interview. It was really very pleasant and relaxed. You didn't get the feeling that the people on the other end were just talking nonsense, but rather that they were focusing on the person.

Behavioral Technical

The first interview was with the team lead and it was pleasant, with questions focused on interest and a good atmosphere. However, the second interview with the CEO was very different. The CEO had a totally conservative attitude and conveyed an organizational structure marked by outdated patterns, with a clear top-down delegation. The person from the first interview just nodded along, offering no input or follow-up. There was no reflection, just stereotypical thinking. It was very uncomfortable, especially with the constant emphasis on the 3-year investment period before new employees become profitable. Wow, Bechtle has a long way to go... But not with me. I decided against Bechtle regardless of the answer.
