First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bealls.
Sales Associate
The manager didn't show up for the interview and I was sent to another store. I met with a supervisor and rescheduled with the manager for later that week. The manager told me she had a few more interviews and I would hear back a few days later. I never heard back. Maybe other locations are more professional, but I would not recommend the one I went to.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
Cashier
The interview process was pretty relaxed. They asked some basic questions about working with others, customer service, and sales, and requested specific examples. Don't overthink it, but be ready with some examples when asked.
- Can you give an example of how you demonstrate awareness on the floor?
Customer Service Representative
I applied and set up an interview online immediately after submitting the application. I showed up, the interview lasted 8 minutes, I was interviewed by a keyholder, and she took notes because the hiring manager was still the one making the final decision. She told me I'd hear back in 3-4 days. I got a rejection email on the 4th day. To be fair, I really did not do a good job answering the questions.
- Can you tell me about a time you delivered excellent customer service?
- Describe a situation where you had to resolve a conflict with a coworker.
- What are your expectations for this role?
Group Manager
I was initially offered a store manager role, but turned it down because of the salary. About a month later, the Regional Manager reached out about a District/Group Manager opening and asked if I was interested. I then spoke with the senior talent manager and the senior VP of operations. They said I'd hear about next steps, but it's been over a month with no word, so I'm guessing I didn't get the role. It's a shame because they call themselves KIND and value people, but their interview process didn't show that. I'm fine with not getting the job, but since they initiated contact, I expected the Regional Manager to at least call and let me know their decision. It was good to see the company's true colors though.
- What makes you the best candidate for this position?
