The manager didn't show up for the interview and I was sent to another store. I met with a supervisor and rescheduled with the manager for later that week. The manager told me she had a few more interviews and I would hear back a few days later. I never heard back. Maybe other locations are more professional, but I would not recommend the one I went to.

It was pretty easy, just some basic entry-level questions. They asked about my personality and what departments I preferred, and my availability. They also gave me an idea of where they were hiring and the hours they had open.

There were about 20 people interviewing for this position. The whole thing took about an hour and a half. The managers asked us questions and we answered them. They only ended up hiring 5 of us, and I was one of them! It went really well and I got hired that same day, starting the very next day in September. It was the busiest time of year and I was scheduled for 25-30 hours a week. One person actually walked out because they realized they couldn't commit to the hours. The managers told the other 14 people that they weren't what they were looking for to join Beall's. I wasn't happy about that one guy walking out.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Clients always come first. Be friendly and smile. A smile means a lot. How would you prevent an angry client? I would never escalate the reaction. I replied if I couldn't make them happy I would call a manager to make them happy. Would you like changes? Would you like to work in different departments if needed?
  • To be professional. Treat others with respect. Keeping the cashier area clean. I was stationed in Misses, Children, and Men's department when it was busy.
