Sales Development Representative
It was a really weird interview process. I had several interviews with different people, and it seemed like they weren't sharing information about me internally. It felt like I was repeating myself a lot. They told me I would get a job offer in the final interview. But then, three months later, I got a generic rejection email. They ignored my attempts to follow up between the final interview and that email. The whole experience felt very disorganized in how they handled it.
- What's your approach to cold calling?
Software Engineer
So first you'll chat with a recruiter over the phone or video, just to see if you're a good fit and talk about your background. After that, there are usually one or more tech interviews. These might involve some coding, talking about system design, or working through problems. If you do well, you'll probably have some onsite or virtual interviews with the team, where they'll ask you both technical and behavioral questions. Usually, there's a final chat with the hiring manager before they make a decision.
- The question was designed to gauge problem-solving and communication skills, and how I deal with complexity in real-world scenarios.
Field Marketing Manager
I went through the whole interview process and got a verbal offer. But then, just as I was waiting for the final paperwork, they changed the role and added more requirements. They made me do two more interviews for this new version of the role, only to tell me afterward that I didn't meet the requirements, even though they knew my background all along. The original role I was offered was then canceled, and they didn't offer me the new one either. It felt like a total waste of my time with all the changes. The recruiter was great though, she did her best with the situation. My main question is, if you know the role is changing and I don't fit the new requirements from the start, why offer me verbally in the first place? And why keep interviewing me? Just a heads up, be careful and ask for the salary you deserve.
- Tell me about a project you recently completed that you're proud of.
Business Analyst
Applied online and heard back 5 business days later to set up an intro call with a recruiter (20-30 mins). On the screening call, they first asked if I was okay with an in-office role that had some remote flexibility. They went over the job description, the team, and the soft/technical skills they're looking for. They also mentioned some internal tools they use. Then, they asked about my background and told me the next step was a 30-min virtual interview with the hiring manager once they were done with other candidates. After the screening, I got an email about the company's benefits and culture.
