It began with a 20-minute phone call with a recruiter. Before the call, I got an email with recent news clippings about Babylist and a link to a podcast featuring their CEO. During the last part of the screening call, I asked the recruiter some questions about the role and remote work.
It was one round where we discussed an architectural style question in a very collaborative way. I can't recall the specific behavioral questions, but the interviewers were really nice. I'd definitely recommend interning here; it was a great experience.
The recruiters were professional. My issue was my first interview was with the director and even though I nailed every question and solved the terraform challenges elegantly, the recruiter then calls me and says "would you be willing to be move forward with a less senior role" which honestly is kind of insulting. This tells me a few things a) Leadership doesn't know what they want. b) They want a senior paid at a junior level. I've basically had 4 reputable employers acknowledge me and a senior then you have a director from babylist who subjectively decided I'm not... I'm okay.
