The interview was 2 hours long. It started with a technical background chat with two senior engineers, followed by a more in-depth technical interview. No coding or take-home tasks were involved; it was just a deep dive conversation about tech with four engineers over two back-to-back sessions. It was a great experience! They were able to assess my technical knowledge effectively through conversation. The manager interview, lasting 30 minutes, provided a clear overview of the team's projects, the role's responsibilities, and how I'd fit in. They ditched the traditional coding interviews, which was a welcome change.
Basic computer networking knowledge is sufficient. They asked about my pay expectations. It's a contract position, so no benefits. The work is hectic, and growth seems limited, which is a bummer.
The interview lasted about an hour. It started with technical questions, which then led to more in-depth questions based on those. After that, we talked about my previous work experiences. Unfortunately, I didn't get an offer in the end.
