Pretty easy "get to know you" virtual pre-recorded interview. If the hiring manager and manager likes your virtual pre-recorded interview they will then have an actual virtual interview with you.
I interviewed for a development role. The HireVue round was pretty challenging because you have like two minutes to answer questions that can be pretty detailed, so it's hard to give thoughtful responses in that format. I heard from the hiring manager about two weeks after submitting HireVue, and overall the process felt a bit drawn out. Everyone I interacted with was kind, professional, and clearly cares about the mission, which I really appreciated. I do think a little more flexibility in the video interview format and timeline would make for a better candidate experience.
I applied for two jobs at ALSAC and both sent me recorded video interviews. Both times I got an automated email saying I wasn't selected after this stage. I get that companies need to screen people fast, but one-way interviews feel cold and don't respect my time. Also, you can't ask questions or learn about the job or team with this format.
