First there was a phone screen with someone on the investment team. Then a Zoom call with a VP. After that, I had to do an HBS Case study with one of the partners. Finally, I had an in-person interview in Mclean, VA with 4 upper-level management employees.
The interview process involved a 20-minute initial call, followed by a 30-minute Zoom interview with a VP. Next, there was a 30-minute case study (HBS case) with a partner, culminating in an in-person superday at the McLean office. While the team seemed nice, the pay was quite disappointing, below 80k.
I was first reached out to by a recruiter on LinkedIn, and we had a good chat about the job and what it entails. Then, I went in for an in-person interview with one of the managing partners. It was a bit strange because they didn't really ask about how I could support them or the team, but rather focused on how big my last employer was. They mentioned setting up a Zoom call with another managing partner. I sent a thank-you note and a reminder about the Zoom meeting, but didn't hear back for over a week. Finally, the recruiter let me know they decided to go with other candidates. Honestly, I'm kind of glad it didn't work out. I'm looking for a place that communicates well and cares about DEI.
