Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zyscovich.
Architectural Designer
The interview process involved two rounds and spanned a total of two months. They asked about my previous work history. The interviewer seemed to have reviewed my resume beforehand and asked questions based on its content.
- Can you show me any technical drawings you've created?
Architectural Designer
The interview process was very accessible and communicative. The interviewers were straight to the point and open for interesting discussions. Overall it was a great experience in the interview even though it was a zoom interview. They were in a good mood and were able to have side conversations that not necessarily pertained to the position so it felt very natural.
- What do you consider the most important aspect of being an architect?
Architect
It was a zoom interview where we looked at my portfolio and work samples together, and discussed my technical skills. It included a mix of behavioral questions like 'Tell me about yourself,' 'What is your greatest strength/weakness,' 'What makes you unique,' and prompts to share something not on your resume. There were also questions about how my strengths would help me, how I handle failure and success, whether I consider myself successful, and how I manage stress. They asked for a self-description, a typical work week, my willingness to fail or relocate, my work ethic and style, my ability to work with others, and if I take work home. I was asked about my differentiation from the competition, my self-perception, who I compare myself to, how this role aligns with my career goals, typical work hours, and how I adjust to new environments and company cultures. Finally, they asked about my work pace and how others (co-workers, professors) would describe me.
