First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zumiez.
Assistant Manager
First I had a recruiter call, then a technical screen where they asked me what's three things I would do if I was invisible and I had to make an outfit. After that, I talked to the district manager and they also asked me about my work experience. Then I got the offer.
- They asked me about my previous work experience.
Assistant Manager
The interview process for the First Assistant Manager role wasn't very organized and felt a bit inappropriate. I questioned if this job was the right fit for me, but the managers did a good job of selling the position. They made some promises that maybe they shouldn't have, but since most of us rely on these jobs, it's not ideal. On a positive note, I enjoyed the male interviewer; he was respectful and fun.

Assistant Manager
I walked into the store and chatted with an employee. They told me to apply online and then set up an interview with the store manager for the next week. I was hired right then and there! But, the online paperwork took ages, which was annoying. Honestly, everything should just go back to being on paper.
- How would you describe yourself using a color and explain why?
- Can you share two of your personal strengths?
- What are two areas where you see opportunities for improvement or personal weaknesses?
