Technical Recruiter
I applied for the job and a few hours later got scheduled for an in-person interview. The next day I went in and chatted with the hiring manager for about half an hour. The questions were pretty straightforward, though at first his body language made it seem like he wasn't really paying attention to our talk (he must have a lot on his plate, but it really threw me off). But as we kept talking, he seemed to get more into what I was saying, even complimenting my answers and saying I'd be a good fit. When we wrapped up, he walked me through the next steps, saying he'd talk to his bosses and have me come in again in a few days. I was pretty bummed out when the company never got back to me. It felt like he was just being extra nice so he didn't have to give me a direct rejection.
- What are three qualities you seek in a company?
- What is your salary expectation?
- Would you be okay with a role that involves constant phone conversations?
Recruiter
It began with a Zoom phone call with an HR recruiter, followed by an in-person meeting with the branch manager. The interview felt informal and comfortable, focusing on my job aspirations and what I definitely didn't want in a role. The manager then aligned this with Zoom's offerings to ensure it was a good fit. I appreciated that their priority seemed to be helping me make the right decision, regardless of whether I took the job. It was great they were willing to give people a chance to try something new, like sales or recruiting, which I hadn't done before but was interested in.
- What would make you hesitant to accept a sales position?
Recruiter
I had a phone chat that went pretty well. Then, they had me come in for an in-person interview the very next day. The one-on-one was pretty straightforward; the interviewer looked through my resume and asked about my past experiences and how I approach things. It went really well, and I got a call later that same day with an offer.
- Can you walk me through your resume and experiences?
- Could you describe your methods?
- Are you a good personality fit for this role?
