Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zola.
Marketing
Had a phone screen where the recruiter was really complimentary about my experience and said it seemed like a good match. Then they ghosted me for about a week without a clear reason, and I got a generic rejection email. It's funny because they said the team was 'very into communication,' which I now think might mean they micromanage a lot.

Marketing
Got an email for a marketing gig asking me to totally flesh out their social media channels and who they should be reaching out to. Seemed kinda weird since we hadn't even done a phone screen yet. I replied asking if we could chat on the phone first since I had some questions for them too, before doing all this work. They ghosted me. Big red flag when a company isn't even willing to have a quick 30-minute call before asking for that much work. Sounds like someone else had a similar experience where their ideas were just taken and they never heard back.
- Can you assess Zola's current performance on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest?
- What aspects of Zola's social media presence do you believe are effective?
- Identify areas where Zola's social media strategy could be enhanced.
Marketing
Started with an intro call, then did two video interviews, and wrapped up with a half-day of in person interviews. The whole process was pretty straightforward and moved really fast, got responses quickly.
