Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zodiac Aerospace.
Design Engineer
applied through agency, nudged HR about my application status, had an on-site interview where I talked to the Director of Engineering and the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, and they asked typical personality questions along with questions about my on-the-job knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- What aspect of Design Engineering do you find appealing?
Design Engineer
Got a referral from a friend working there to his boss. About three months later, I was invited straight to an on-site interview. The company paid for everything: travel, lodging, car rental, and meals. However, dealing with HR was a bit of a headache; they waited until the very last minute to send travel details, and I couldn't get in touch with them by phone or email. I finally got my travel info just two days before the interview. The interview itself felt pretty relaxed. There was an hour-long session about the company, followed by three one-on-one interviews with managers and engineers, and a quiz. During the day, some current employees joined me for lunch and dinner, which the company also covered.
- Can you walk me through your resume and projects?
- What is a weakness you have?
Design Engineer
First, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager and some of their team. Then, I went for an in-person interview at the facility. I met with the manager, other engineers, and then the director. We went to lunch with some of the team. After that, there was a skills test and a facility tour, and the interview process concluded. I was called back later that day for a one-on-one with the director.
- Can you discuss your experience with injection molded parts?
- Can you discuss your experience with machined parts?
- What's your background with DFMA?
