Project Manager
We start with a phone call to get a feel for the candidate. Then there are two interviews: first with HR, then with the direct manager. The HR interview covers your background (partially in English to check skills), what drives you, and general skills for the role. The manager interview helps you understand the work environment and the tasks involved. Expect two small exercises: one to test your analytical skills, and another in English to assess your abilities.
- What management methods are you familiar with?
- How would your friends describe you?
- Can you tell us about your background and what motivates you to apply for this position?
Ingénieur d'études
First, there's a standard chat with the HR assistant where you'll need to present yourself, talk about your strengths and weaknesses. The main thing is to explain your internship (or experience) clearly and without too many details, so they understand what you're saying. After that, there's a 30-minute English test and a 30-minute technical quiz in C. If all goes well, you'll have an interview with your future manager and then with the director. They'll explain the business context and how they work with clients. That's it!
- QCM in C or VHDL (depending on your profile) plus an English test
Business Analyst
I had a really quick call with HR first (like 10 minutes), then they wanted me to come in for an interview either that day or the next. It was a panel interview with the Director of Engineering and another senior manager. They were looking for someone who knew Excel really well and could also work with people to find ways to make the staff more productive. The people I met were super down-to-earth and the interview didn't take long (about 20 minutes).
- Tell me about your experience managing huge datasets in Excel.
- Describe how you would leverage your Excel expertise and people skills to enhance employee productivity.
Design Engineer
Got a referral from a friend working there to his boss. About three months later, I was invited straight to an on-site interview. The company paid for everything: travel, lodging, car rental, and meals. However, dealing with HR was a bit of a headache; they waited until the very last minute to send travel details, and I couldn't get in touch with them by phone or email. I finally got my travel info just two days before the interview. The interview itself felt pretty relaxed. There was an hour-long session about the company, followed by three one-on-one interviews with managers and engineers, and a quiz. During the day, some current employees joined me for lunch and dinner, which the company also covered.
- Can you walk me through your resume and projects?
- What is a weakness you have?
