First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zip Marketing.
Account Executive
First, we screen candidates for the position in a 20-minute interview. Then, there's a second interview where you'll learn more about the company, lasting 70 minutes. The second and third rounds happen back-to-back on the same day. After the third interview, where you'll have a last chance to sell yourself and any additional questions will be answered, you'll get a call later that day to find out if you got the job. You'll get a call later the same day after the first round to find out if you got the second interview. They are super clear about what you'll be doing and opportunities for growth. This is a great role for anyone wanting to advance quickly, get better at direct sales, and join the Zip team. Make sure to do your homework before interviewing! The people here are awesome! Don't hesitate to ask if you're unsure about anything.
- What's your understanding of the Law of Averages?
- Where in the world would you choose to go, and what's the reason behind it?
- Can you share any experience you have in leadership roles?
Account Executive
The interview process had three parts. The first part was like a background check and asked why I wanted the job. The second part was more detailed, and the third part was a final question. The atmosphere at Zip was good, from the front desk to the interviewers. However, after learning about the job duties, I realized it wasn't what I wanted for my career. If someone is interested in direct sales, it's a good opportunity.
- Why do you want this job?
- What makes you a better candidate than others?
Account Executive
So, the interview process started with some higher-ups taking me out for coffee. They asked me questions about marketing, like direct vs. indirect marketing and who the target audience is for cable/internet/phone services. They also talked a lot about how marketing and communication are super important, trying to sell me on the role. But, what they were really getting at is that it's a door-to-door sales job. ZipInc is basically a reseller for AT&T, and they hire people to sell their new packages. When I asked if this meant I'd be a door-to-door salesman, the interviewer tried to brush it off, saying it's the best part of the job and people are just buying these products left and right. He also mentioned growth opportunities. After this second stage, there's a third round focused on company fit. In the end, I turned down their offer. If you're looking to be a door-to-door salesperson and work purely on commission, go for it. Otherwise, I'd steer clear. Also, be aware of the manager, Kai Petrich; he has a history of scams – look up 'circle concepts ohio kai petrich' for some bad experiences.
- None of the questions were too tough; I think if you do okay in the interview, they'll offer you the job.
