First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zeta Global.
Software Engineer
The interview process was decent, involving four rounds. It started with an aptitude test, followed by three technical rounds (t1, t2), and concluded with a managerial (HR) round. Unfortunately, I didn't make it past t1 because I wasn't prepared for core Java concepts like threads and the IO package.
- Questions mainly focused on core Java concepts like threads and the IO package, along with SQL and form validations.
Software Engineer
It was a technical round over Skype. The interviewer didn't have his video on, but he asked me to turn mine on because it was a video technical round. They asked a lot of questions about core Java, expecting in-depth knowledge of its internal workings, beyond just hands-on and conceptual understanding.
- Can you explain the internal workings of a Map in Java?
- How do threads function internally in Java?
- What is the reason behind String's immutability in Java?
Software Engineer
The process began with a quick 10-minute HR call covering basic details like work experience, degree, visa status, and location. Following that, I had a 30-minute phone interview with the Engineering Manager. She was really nice and responsive, starting by discussing my background, work experience, and current projects. Then, she asked some questions about Java (OOP), Spring/Hibernate, Design Patterns, and Linux commands. The interview went well, but unfortunately, I didn't move to the next stage.
- Can you write code to reverse a string and analyze its performance using Big O notation?
- Could you list some fundamental Unix commands?
- What are design patterns and can you provide examples?
