First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zerocater.
Software Engineer
So there were 3 steps in the interview, not counting the initial screening. First, there was a coding round, and then two more technical rounds. The whole process was really straightforward and clear, all about seeing if you can do what they expect an engineer to do and solve problems.
- There was an online Python test for 20 minutes, then a live Python coding interview.
- Make sure to review DSA with a focus on scheduling algorithms.
On-Site Service Specialist
The interview process was virtual and quite thorough, yet pleasant and informative. I was contacted about a month after submitting my application. Initially, there was a recruitment screening, followed by an interview with management. The whole process moved quickly and efficiently. I received an offer a couple of days later and started training shortly after.
- Can you tell me about your experience in this field?
Customer Support Associate
It was a three part interview process. First, a phone screen with the recruiter. Then, an interview with the hiring manager. The third interview was supposed to be a two-hour long interview with people they never named. They also requested two professional references. This is for an entry-level role, and they need a three-hour interview and references for an entry-level part-time role?! And they were only offering $16?!!! This is a CA based company where the state minimum wage is $15 and they are only offering $1 over that while also requiring a three hour interview and references for a part-time role.
- Describe a situation where you had to deliver bad news to a customer.
Account Executive
The interview process was way too long and disorganized. It felt like the company's management was all over the place. The final stage was a phone screen with the VP of Marketing for a SaaS sales role. After more than two weeks of 'steps,' I finished the last one and got an email the next morning from the recruiter saying they were excited to move forward and would call later to discuss next steps. They did call, but apparently, the company 'decided to switch gears and look for an established senior AE in their vertical with existing contacts.' Seriously? You just figured this out after almost 3 weeks? I'm a seasoned sales professional and can tell when something's up. Very disorganized, the base salary is below market, and they won't negotiate. The interview steps were boring, the product is mediocre, I'd avoid this place.
