First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zerin Business Consulting.
Management Trainee
The atmosphere was great, and I felt welcomed right away. While waiting, the receptionist chatted with me and asked questions. The interview itself was just a first step, and I'm waiting to hear back. Mark was a great interviewer; he made me feel valued and answered all my questions about the company.
- Can you tell me something you'd like to work on?
- What would you say are your biggest strengths?
- What is it that drives you?
Management Trainee
I got a call out of the blue from a company, probably from my Ziprecruiter resume, and they scheduled me for an interview the very next day. It was a quick 20-minute chat with the CEO, who was super nice but surprisingly didn't ask anything about my past work. He said I'd hear back the same day about moving to the next round, and sure enough, I got a call that Monday for another interview that lasted about 4 hours. It felt pretty easy and chill. I left feeling good about it, but I've decided against taking the job. I didn't check Glassdoor beforehand, but now I see reviews saying it's actually a door-to-door sales job with commission only, which is not what I'm looking for. They never mentioned this upfront, and I feel like they should be clear about that from the start.
- In your opinion, where will you be in five years?
- Can you name three words that you feel describe you best?
- What is one aspect of yourself that you believe requires improvement?
Management Trainee
Got a call from the recruiter saying I fit the role and they scheduled a Skype interview for the next day with the CEO. The interview was supposed to start at 10 but he was 10 mins late. It was a quick 15 min chat where he asked me stuff like 'Where do you see yourself in 5 years?' and 'What is success to you?'. Later that evening, around 7, they called again saying I was good for the second round, an in-person interview at their McLean office. Started with basic questions like 'Tell me about yourself' and 'What is leadership to you?'. The interviewer was nice but kinda tricky. He talked for 15 mins about the job using big words like 'leadership', 'communication', 'success', and 'promotion', but I still didn't get what I'd be doing. Turns out, it's door-to-door sales, which I figured out midway. Then he mentioned the salary is all commission. I was totally put off; he never directly said it was sales. After the interview, they made me wait 15 mins and said there's a final round. Another woman interviewed me, asked about myself, and told me how this job will 'transform my life'. I felt fooled but answered anyway. The interview ended, and I went home. They called me the same day at 8:30 pm offering me the job. Seriously, stay away from this company, it's a scam.
- Tell me about yourself.
