Software Engineer Intern
The interview process might have pre-interview steps such as phone screenings or assessments. It wraps up with background and reference checks before a job offer is made. The main part includes introductions, a core Q&A session with behavioral and technical questions, and a closing segment for candidate questions and to discuss next steps.
- Tell me about a time you took initiative and what your specific role was in that situation.
Software Engineer
The interview process was okay, with 1 virtual interview and 1 face-to-face interview at the Zebra Colombo office. But then they asked for my previous salary slip and pay information. This is really unprofessional and shouldn't be asked from candidates. Salaries should be based on merit, knowledge, experience and the job role/description. I told them I wouldn't share this info, and after that, I was dropped from the process, which is unethical and a waste of my time.
- Were previous salary slips requested?
Software Engineer
First up was a chat with HR about my background, salary needs, and work authorization. Then, I spoke with the Firmware Engineering Manager. We had a really nice chat about how I've worked in the past compared to how they do things. Lastly, I had a conversation with the Hiring Manager, which was also great. It was a good chance to ask questions about the company and talk about my education, past jobs, and how I'd commute.
