I applied online & one week later I received a phone call from Paris YSL HR. She called late afternoon. Straight away it goes into the typical retail questions about XYZ luxury brand I work with & other retail questions about customer service. It was a very nice phone call & nothing that shocked me. If you are long enough in the retail chain the questions becomes the norm. Anyway, after that phone call I haven’t heard from her for another week & thought it was over. But she called again to ask the manager wants to know due to my CV if I wanted to go back to the other store where they are a concession (where I used to work but not with any concession luxuries brand.) OR to the other luxury boutique which was the original advertising. I was amazed this was even ask considering I applied for the luxury boutique via the application as given on the ad. I didn’t want to be cocky so I decided to keep the door open so I mentioned I’m flexible to go wherever. Well after that I haven’t heard anything from her. I even called her back & left a message on her answering machine. But no call back. It would be nice if companies had the politeness to say what is going on instead of you left in the dark. They’re way of saying: “Not interested” anymore = they fade out....rude I think.

The first step was an informal but helpful Skype chat with HR. Then, I had an in-person meeting at the store with the store manager and one of my potential colleagues. HR was really on top of things, responding quickly to my emails and answering all my questions.
