Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at YRC Freight.
Operations Supervisor
I had a few interviews. First, there was a recruiter call. Then, I went to the facility for an onsite interview. I got a tour and learned about the day-to-day activities. I also spoke with the current Operations Supervisor. It seemed like I had a good shot, but it didn't work out.
- How would you manage a disagreement with a driver regarding deliveries?
- What's your approach to resolving conflicts among employees?
- Can you describe the typical daily workflow in this facility?
Operations Supervisor
The interview process is pretty standard. Usually, you'll meet with a group of two or three people. They'll ask some typical HR questions, like how you'd handle stressful situations. They'll also ask if you're open to working nights, days, or holidays, as it's expected that you won't have many holidays off.
- Will you work any night, day, or holiday?
- Will you dictate to the unionized workforce in situations?
- Will you be expected to directly tell someone to do it and discipline them if they don't comply?
Operations
quick very detailed manager was very understanding knew that all i needed was an opportunity to show what i can do easy process to learn just take time and practice to learn the job which can make things alot easy it seems like a lot but once you find your rhythm its easy and the day goes fast if you jump right to your task
- Can you describe your experiences with safety?
