First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Young Life.
Administrative
I spoke with the area coordinator for my interview. It was pretty straightforward and not too difficult. They asked some good questions that were direct and to the point. The pay is something we can talk about, and after the interview, they said I'd have to present myself to the board to get approved for hire.
- What church do you attend?
Administrative Assistant
I had a great interview experience, everyone was very pleasant and asked good questions that pertained to the job. I was interviewed by a panel and that was the only interview. I liked that I did not have to jump through 6 different interviews where I am asked the same question every time.
- How will your past experience be relevant for this role.
Administrative
After submitting my resume, I was contacted within a few days for an interview at the Young Life office. It was a business casual meeting with just myself and the Area Director. He asked a mix of standard interview questions, like my background and previous job experiences (likes and dislikes) and what I'm seeking in a role at Young Life. He also asked some questions specific to a religious organization, such as my relationship with Christ, when I was saved, my church involvement, and if I have a mentor. The conversation was casual, and he took notes. Towards the end, he started talking as if I would be joining the team. I left feeling positive about the interview and received an offer two days later.
- Could you describe your current relationship with Christ?
- What is your current relationship with Christ like today?
