Recruiting Manager
The Yipitdata interview process was pretty thorough, but thankfully, they kept things moving and didn't have a lot of lag time between interviews. My process involved a few steps: first, a phone interview with the hiring manager, then an interview with the head of the department. After that, there was a task to complete, followed by a long (3-hour) final interview with key team members and stakeholders I'd be working with. They did offer the option to split up that 3-hour interview if needed, but I did it all in one go. I actually liked the longer process because even though it can sometimes deter people, it gave me a really good chance to get to know the company, its culture, and the people I'd be working with. I have mixed feelings about tasks in general. This task for the recruiting role was a decent way to see how the Yipitdata recruiting team operates, but I did find it a bit lengthy, especially since I was still working full-time. Overall though, I was really happy with how well they communicated throughout the whole process and the timeline.

Recruiting Coordinator
My interview experience was quite extensive, but each step felt genuinely valuable. Initially, there were two conversations, each lasting between 30 minutes to an hour, with one or two team members. Following that, I was given a take-home assignment. They then arranged a follow-up call to go over the take-home exercise. The final stage was a longer session, about 2 hours, where I met with approximately 4 to 5 more individuals. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and very open to answering my questions and sharing detailed information about the company. I was juggling another offer, and they were great about speeding up my interview timeline, which I really appreciated.
- What is your motivation for wanting to join Yipitdata?
- Can you describe a situation where you made an error in a previous role and how you addressed it?
- Have you ever identified a process that could be improved and subsequently implemented a change?

I applied with my resume and got an email back with a take-home assignment that was due the next Sunday. I spent about three hours on the three parts of the exercise. Four days later, I got a very short email saying they weren't moving forward with my application. I get that they didn't think I was a fit, but after all the effort I put in, they could have at least told me why. Also, I think it would be better to do a phone screen before asking candidates to spend hours on a take-home exercise.
- Could you schedule 11 people over five days using a sample calendar?
- Please create an Interview Plan.
- How would you go about collecting feedback after an interview?
