Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Yext.
Client Success Manager
The interview process was great from start to finish. I spoke with a helpful recruiter and could easily track my progress using Yext's candidate portal. The pace was good, not too fast or too slow. It included a recruiter screen, two behavioral interviews with management, and a presentation. Each stage felt logical, and I enjoyed the overall experience.
- What advice would you give to a new Client Success Manager?
Customer Success Manager
I had a great interview experience with Yext. Everyone I talked to was nice, open, helpful, and kept me in the loop. Things moved fast and smoothly, which gave me a good feel for the company's values and culture, and they're exactly what I'm looking for. Big thanks to Joe Sollis, the recruiter, who was super supportive and involved the whole way. Even with other jobs, Joe really focused on each chat and made it feel personal. Thanks to Joe and the Yext team, I'm excited to start!
- Can you show how your background and abilities match the company's core values?
Customer Success Manager
It began with a quick 15-minute chat with their recruiter over the phone. Then, I had a 1-hour video interview with two directors, where we each had 30 minutes. This part involved talking about my past work, why I was interested in Yext, and some hypothetical scenarios. If I passed that, I moved on to the in-person interviews at their NYC office. There, I met with two more directors for 30 minutes each to discuss my background and go over more 'what if' questions. So far, so good! But then came the presentation, where I had to do a mock QBR for a client. The instructions were unclear about how much the client was already using Yext, which made it tricky. They gave me a basic PPT template to customize. The template was heavy on explaining the Yext platform and had a salesy ending. I changed the content to fit the client's needs, assuming they were only using one Yext service. Honestly, the deck felt like it was trying to push them to adopt the whole suite, not just confirm they were already with Yext. When I finished, the execs said the client was fully onboarded and didn't get why I presented it that way. I told them they should have stated that upfront, and the initial deck confused me. If you go to Yext for an in-person interview, be crystal clear on what they expect for the presentation. It's a shame their instructions were vague enough that I didn't ask for more details before traveling.
- Can you tell me what makes you want to join Yext?
- How have you previously contributed to positive customer relationships?
- What would you do in a specific situation?
