The interview process at Yesware was a really good experience overall, even though I didn't get the offer. They were very mindful of my time, and the whole thing wrapped up in just two weeks, partly because of a holiday. It started with a casual phone screen where the recruiter was easy to chat with, and I learned a lot about the company while they seemed genuinely interested in my background. Next was a coding challenge that wasn't timed. After that, I had a call with a senior engineer to go over my technical background and interests. We talked a lot about how my previous jobs would connect to the role there, which might be common for new people in the field. The final stage was an in-person interview that lasted about four hours. It had a few parts. First, I gave a 30-minute presentation about a project I'd built to about 10 engineers, and I'd recommend making good slides for it. They were a nice audience and it wasn't too stressful, but be ready for questions since you need to know your project thoroughly. Then, I had four one-on-one interviews with engineers where we did whiteboarding for topics like database structures, data flows, algorithms, and OOP design. The engineers were friendly and focused more on how I'd solve problems rather than exact syntax. I didn't get the offer because I was a bit inexperienced, but it seems like a great place to work. They even provided specific feedback on areas for improvement and helped me connect with other companies that might be a better fit for junior developers, which speaks volumes about them.

So I applied and it took a surprisingly long time to hear back, I thought I was out of the running! But then the Director of Talent emailed and wanted to do an initial phone screen. She sent a link so I could just book it online, which was convenient. The phone interview was pretty standard; she talked about the role, asked about my experience, and my salary needs. Since it seemed like a good fit, she invited me in for an interview. They were really flexible with my schedule, which I appreciated since I had to take time off work. It was supposed to be three hours, which sounded terrifying, but it turned out to be fine. I met with six different people for about half an hour each, all in the Customer Success area. It was mostly just conversational, they seemed really focused on finding someone who would fit in well personally and professionally. It was a bit intense with them back-to-back, but I actually started to enjoy it by the second meeting. Afterwards, the Director of Talent checked in to see if I was still interested and answered my questions. She mentioned they'd interviewed others and would decide the next day. She called the next afternoon with a verbal offer, and then I got the official email offer a couple of hours later. The whole process was pretty painless, the Director of Talent was super helpful and friendly, and the interviews themselves were actually fun and not intimidating at all. I felt like I was interviewing them as much as they were interviewing me. I definitely want to work there even more now!

The interview process at Yesware was super easy to work with. After I applied online, a recruiter called me pretty quickly for a phone screen. They were really nice from the start and kept things relaxed. The phone screen was just a chat to get to know me and what I was looking for, and to tell me about the job and company. Not long after, I got a call to set up a phone interview with the hiring manager. It was also a chill conversation, talking about the role and if I'd be a good fit. It felt really natural, not like a stuffy interview at all. Then, I had an on-site interview that lasted about 2.5 hours. I met with 5 people: the recruiter, hiring manager, the founder/CTO, and some people I'd be working with. They were great about my schedule since I was going on vacation and only had one day that worked. When I got there, they greeted me and took me to a conference room. Everyone interviewed differently, but they all kept it relaxed and focused on my past experience and how I'd handle different scenarios. I liked that the questions weren't canned or the usual behavioral stuff; they just came up naturally in our talks. They really seemed to have looked at my resume beforehand. At the end of the interviews, the recruiter showed me around the office, and I got to see the place and the cool perks. It was lunchtime, and people were hanging out and eating together, which was nice to see. By the end of the week, I got an offer. The offer wasn't a shocker; they were upfront about the salary range and expectations from the beginning. I thought about it for a few days but decided not to leave my job because of something that happened after my on-site. Overall, my experience with Yesware was awesome, and it was a tough call not to take the offer. If my current job hadn't had that change, I would've joined them for sure!

I was on the fence about sharing this but decided it's the right thing to do. The interview process was pretty interesting. First, I had a phone interview with HR, then I spoke with the hiring manager for the sales team. After that, I was invited to a group panel, and everything seemed to be going great; they all appeared to like me and the vibe was good. They mentioned I'd hear back about moving forward within 24 to 48 hours. Two days passed, and I found out the sales position had been canceled for unspecified reasons, and nobody bothered to inform me; I had to discover it myself. The HR person then said there was another role I might be a good fit for, so I had to go through another whole interview process again. Overall, it was a horrible experience; no one ever followed up with me, and I was really unhappy, which is sad because I had such high hopes. I felt completely misled by this company; it seemed like they wanted me to work there but ultimately didn't.
