Behavioral Technical

I got a call the day after applying. It was a friendly chat and a short interview where they asked how I'd handle a customer who owns a Greek restaurant and another who's a lawyer. Then, I was invited for a second interview at the Yelp office. The first interview with top management was really positive. After that, a Team Leader interviewed me. They asked questions similar to what's in other reviews. It was confusing because the reviews say not to offer Yelp when a customer wants to cancel, but instead to keep them with arguments and understand them. However, in both cases here, the customer wanted to cancel, and I was told to offer a Yelp solution in one situation but not the other! It's hard to know what they want to hear. With years of customer support experience, you know what to do, but you need training to understand the company's vision. The generic questions weren't really relevant. I'm disappointed because I asked twice about feedback and was told 'tomorrow,' but they never called back. I don't want to work for a company that lacks basic values towards people, which is the minimum I expect.

It started with a phone call where they didn't really ask about my background, just my thoughts on how I'd perform in the job. They had one role play that was pretty straightforward, needing just a bit of initiative and recall. Then came the on-site interview, covering the job details, some personality assessments, and then the tough role play. I felt pressured to have perfect skills during the interview, and it was frustrating because it seemed like my existing abilities weren't enough, which I think depends on the interviewer. But the next day, I got a call with a tentative job offer. After my background check cleared, I received the official offer. I was surprised because I didn't think I did that well in the interview.

Behavioral Technical Case

Applied online and they emailed back quickly saying my application was being reviewed. The next day, I got an email with job and salary info to see if it fit my needs. Then, they scheduled a 15-minute phone interview. After that, I was emailed that it went well and that I'd have a Skype interview since I'm out of state. For the Skype interview, they called about 10 minutes early to test my connection and said the first interviewer would call back. About 10 minutes later, the interviewer called and asked some questions and did a role-play about a client wanting to cancel ads due to non-performance. Then, I was told I'd have another Skype call in a few minutes with another manager. The second Skype call happened, and I was asked more questions and did another role-play for a customer who got a bad review and wanted it removed ASAP. After this, I was told the managers would meet and decide. Two days later, I got an email saying I wasn't chosen.
