First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Yardi Systems.
Implementation Specialist
The interview process was moderate, with a strong emphasis on aptitude tests. It's important to have a solid grasp of math and percentages. There were a total of 4 interview rounds, with the remaining part being a technical round. Aptitude test examples include questions about kilometers, age, and relationships.

I applied on the website and got a call from HR a few days later. They screened me and set up a phone interview with the manager. The next week, I had an in-person interview. I talked with the team and did an hour-long test to see how much I knew about the job. The managers said the test was more about seeing what training I might need, not for deciding if they'd hire me. They were honest that this job doesn't have a career path and the best I could hope for long-term were lateral moves. When I said I was concerned about that, they mentioned their only worry was that I'd get bored. They described the role as very customer service-focused, involving a lot of client interaction over the phone and email. I'm looking for a more technical role, so this clearly wasn't it. I think they liked me and we had a good connection, but I think they didn't offer me the job because I was honest about my concerns. It would have been better if Yardi had just told me they weren't moving forward instead of ghosting me. It's rude when employers don't get back to candidates after they've interviewed and tested with them. I followed up two weeks later and still haven't heard anything five weeks later. I took another job, but I wouldn't apply to Yardi again because of this.

You'll meet the director and all the managers (one of whom will be your direct manager). If it's a solo interview, they'll all be in one room with you. If it's a group interview, each manager and the director will have their own office where you'll have 1-on-1 chats with them. You'll rotate with other candidates. Whether solo or group, there's a written test in addition to the in-person interview. The written part takes about 30 minutes but you get an hour. The solo interview won't take more than 2 hours. The group interview might take all day, and they usually provide lunch.
- What is your understanding of our business?
