First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Yardi Systems.
Senior Software QA Engineer
Had two interviews over Zoom. First one was with the Tech Recruiter and HR, where they asked general QA background questions. Second interview was with the hiring manager and a team member, and they asked more specific questions about QA, Automation, and my previous jobs. Heard back within a month.
- Tell me about your experience with automation.
- Specifically, what's your background with Jenkins?
- And how about your experience with Selenium?
Manual Tester
I got a mail from a recruiter. The whole interview process took 1 day. I interviewed at Yardi Systems in Pune in May 2019. The process was quite lengthy, taking a whole day. Round 1 was a General Aptitude test with questions on Reasoning, Logic, Basic Maths, Age, Time & Distance, Work, Number series, and Trains. Round 2 was a Testing Aptitude test including defect reporting, identifying test types from descriptions, questions on web vs. desktop testing, MCQ based on testing concepts, and writing test cases for a discount system based on user age. Round 3 was an Essay Writing round on one of five simple topics. Round 4 was a Pre-HR round where they asked about the company, CTC, and basic personal info, including why I wanted to leave my previous employer. Round 5 was the Technical Round with basic manual testing questions.
- Could you explain what regression testing is?
- What's the difference between Agile and Waterfall methodologies?
- Can you explain Priority and Severity in testing?
QA Engineer
For a manual tester with 2-4 years of experience, the interview process has 5 rounds. First, there's an aptitude test with very basic English and reasoning questions. Second, an HR discussion to check communication skills. Third, a technical round where they ask about your current project and some basic technical questions. Fourth, a manager round with project-related questions and a discussion about salary expectations. Finally, there's an offer round where they extend the employment offer.
- What is your role in your current project?
- Can you tell me about the project you are currently working on?
- What are your salary expectations?
