First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Yankee Candle.
Sales Assistant
The interview was held in the back room and felt quite informal. They weren't overly friendly or chatty. I thought it went okay, but since I couldn't work around New Year's due to a holiday I'd already planned, I suspect that might have affected the outcome.
- Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What's your availability like, especially during the holiday season?
- What do you like to do in your free time?
Sales Assistant
I talked to the manager for about 5 minutes. Then I did two practice shifts. The first one was on my first day. They invited me back for another practice shift a few days later. I got offered the job after the second practice shift.
- What can you contribute to the store?
- How do you feel your personality aligns with the store environment?
Sales Assistant
It was a pretty relaxed interview. The interviewer was super nice, and I didn't feel a lot of pressure. The room was kinda small and looked like a storage space. We sat on stools because there weren't any chairs. Besides that, it went pretty well.
- Could you tell me a little about yourself and your previous interviews?
