A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. Then there was an online interview followed by a factory tour and interview at the facility. We talked about my past experiences and what I wanted in a company. I met with managers and people from design engineering and testing engineering.

Getting an interview was tough. After applying and waiting ages with no word, I reached out to several hiring managers, but still no response. Weeks later, someone totally unrelated contacted me, saying my resume on their site was messed up and they needed it again. I sent it over a second time and waited another week. I had to chase them up myself again and found out my resume wasn't even sent to the hiring manager. Once it finally got to them, they wanted an interview in just two days, even though I was out of town on a business trip. I squeezed it in though, as it seemed like my only shot. The interview itself was pretty standard. The guy mostly read questions from his screen and didn't really engage or discuss anything with me. His questions were unclear, and he didn't offer much explanation when I asked. When it was my turn to ask questions, he rushed through his answers, clearly thinking I was wasting his time. After I asked about seven questions trying to get info, I just gave up, and we finished 10 minutes early. Looking back, I think there's a mismatch between the experience they want and who's applying, maybe unintentionally, but it was annoying after being so keen on the job description. I asked for feedback afterward, as I always do, and they just said I wasn't the right fit, with no specifics.
