Yahoo India Software Engineer Interview Questions
& Process

I had a really bad time interviewing with Yahoo India. Even though many people told me it was a sinking ship and I shouldn't apply, I went for it anyway. It started with two phone calls and then four technical rounds. The HR told me the feedback was good and an offer was coming. Then, they wanted me to interview with another team. The manager asked me a design question, and when I started to answer, he just got up, said my basics were flawed, turned off the room lights, and walked out. After that, the HR asked me to interview with yet another team. After a total of 11 rounds, which dragged on for 3 months, they still haven't made a decision and are blaming upper management.

I got hired through campus, and the process involved a lot of things. They asked about C++ fundamentals, C programs and algorithms, and some trick questions. There were also DBMS questions, like when, how, and why you would normalize. And typical HR questions. I think there were 4 rounds in total back in Nov 2008. Also, I recall an aptitude test covering Linux and other OS fundamentals.

it started with a technical round about basic Java and other technologies mentioned in the Resume, this lasted for 30 min... followed by another 2 rounds of technical interview. Followed by managerial round ( consisted of puzzles and Job description)
