Technical Coding

I had a straightforward video call interview with Randheer, which was refreshing. It focused directly on technical React questions. It was a nice change from interviews that are all about personality, and I'd definitely consider applying again because it feels like they value knowledge and skill over office politics.

Behavioral Coding Technical

So I had an initial call with the recruiter to chat about the job and answer some general questions about myself. After that, I was sent a take-home coding assignment using React, where I had to build a small application that pulled data from an external API, then sort and edit that data on the page. I had 24 hours to get that done. The next step was a technical interview. They gave me some JavaScript code with a bug I needed to find. We also reviewed my take-home project and talked about adding a couple small things to it. They also asked me about dealing with tough clients and some Git questions, like about merge conflicts. I didn't make it past that stage.

Behavioral Coding

I had a phone interview with the recruiter, and it went well. I learned a lot about the company and he did a good job selling Xtivia. He was pleasant to talk to. However, I was supposed to get a coding assignment the next day but never received it. When I asked about it, I got an apology and the assignment was rescheduled for the following week. He forgot again. I'm not sure what the problem was, but I stopped trying at that point. The assignment was supposed to take 6-8 hours. It wasn't a good experience. I'm glad I didn't plan my day around it, because I would have done it for nothing.
